The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for providing support to produce and package live virus vaccines in a production laboratory setting.

Qualifications BA/BS in a science or 1-2 years of laboratory experience or equivalent Aseptic Technique experience Ability to work independently and in a team environment Good math skills, with the ability to accurately calculate dilutions, concentrations, and cell counts Ability to gown for sterile operations Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
on a regular basis Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time Ability to safely manipulate large equipment and glassware Good written and oral English communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office A valid CA driver's license Responsibilities Follow established procedures to become perform egg inoculation, harvest, processing, and vaccine stoppering with limited support from trainer and/or supervisor Carry out daily observations and documentation of facility and equipment parameters Set up for sterile operations and clean-up waste and production materials Prepare medias, solutions, reagents, and disinfectants as needed Assist with the operation of manufacturing equipment according to established procedures, notifying supervisor if equipment is not functioning properly Perform general housekeeping of the laboratory and routine preventative maintenance of equipment Carry out additional duties according to applicable Standard Operating Procedures Monitor supplies and notify supervisor as needed for reordering Follow all safety requirements while performing assigned tasks, notifying supervisor of any safety concerns Accurately complete documentation according to good documentation practices Perform crimping, labeling, and boxing of final products Train to become proficient in QC testing as needed Additional duties as required Working Conditions Must have reliable transportation Hours are 40 hours per week and flexible.
Early mornings are preferred (starting between 6:
00 and 8:
00 AM) Overtime, Weekend, and Swing Shift work will occasionally be required Job Type:
